The Studio
My Kensworth based Studio is available for Hire to everyone who has ever wanted to shoot in a studio or want an established studio to base themselves from. I have been in the business for many years and know what it is like trying to afford your own place. The studio is available for everyone, you can hire the studio and Facilities for an Hour, a Full Day or even become part of the Studio Share Scheme.

STUDIO SHARE-This is a new offer from Kensworth Studio's. It is designed to help all those amateur, semi pro and professional photographers out there who want earn money from their photography but do not have the use studio. The studio share can offer you professional premises to both meet and photograph clients.
This offer will give you 8 - 15 hours studio time a month to use whenever you wish in any combination from single hours to a full day shoot.
That could be used for - one full day model shoot, two half day fashion shoots, four two hour pet shoots or eight one hour family portrait shoots.
One of the problems i have encountered in the past is model no shows therefore loosing the studio deposit. Well, not any more. With this scheme, the hours are crossed off as you use them. If you model fails to show, you have lost nothing as you have not used your hour, so you can use it another time.
If you work with families or pet portraiture, what’s best for your professional image? Meeting your client at hired village hall or taking them to a fully equipped professional studio? i know what i would choose.
This offer is for the first ten photographers to apply only. There will be a maximum of 10 photographers who will be on the scheme at any one time.
So, how much does this monthly studio time cost?
8 Hours Studio time per month - £100.00
10 Hours Studio time per month - £120.00
15 Hours Studio time per month - £150.00
Can be used any time from 8am - 10pm Monday to Sunday
Compared to the normal day rate of £20.00 per hour.

The studio has been updated and fitted out with Bowens LCD Digital Light Heads with full remote control as well as 2 three roll Background Elevators.
There are far too many light modifiers and screens to list but you will be spoilt for choice.
The three studio spaces contain a main studio area with a selection of Paper Backdrops (Blue, Grey, Black, and Vinyl White) and painted walls (Matt Black, White, and Red) together with numerous material back drops that are changed regularly.
Other facilities include toilet, private changing/make-up room and waiting area.
Needless to say the is a microwave, toaster, kettle, tea, coffee (Real & Instant) and soft drinks to hand, all included in the hire cost.

GLAMOUR WORKSHOPS AT KENSWORTH STUDIOS
Glamour Workshop -
This is a Private evening for only 5 photographers as you will have plenty of time to take photos!
We have a range of Glamour models on our model register for these evenings. All professional and are all open to working with photographers of all levels.
They will be modelling in lingerie and for art nude for a max of 5 photographers only.
Because there is only 5 photographers attending this event you will get plenty of time to take your photos.
Only one photographer will be taking photos at any one time, to ensure privacy for both model and photographer.
I will take care of all the lighting set ups so all you have to do is take the photos.
But i will discuss all lighting and exposure meter readings as we go.
Tea, coffee, cold drinks and light refreshments are included in the price.
All the Lighting set ups will be explained as we go so beginners will learn something too!
The all inclusive price is only £70
Things you need to know if you attend this event!
As I am not an expert on every brand of camera on the market as all my gear is Nikon.
All photographers attending will need to know how to set there SLR cameras to manual, and how to change shutter speeds and Aperture settings (f-Numbers) and also ISO settings.
All Camera settings such as shutter speeds and aperture settings will be given to you as we go.
You will require hoods for your lenses to avoid lens flare.
Also UV and Skylight filters should be removed in the studio.
If you own infrared triggers for lights bring them with you.
If you do not have a trigger don’t worry you can use the one at the studio.

COSTS -
There is a charge of £3 per meeting for visitors except Students for whom the charge is £1.50
Up to 3 lots of visitor's fees are refunded when the visitor pays the subscription.
Visitors may not enter competitions.
Subscriptions are due at the first meeting in January and are:

Further members of the household: £44.00

Our Programme is made up of lectures, competitions and club evenings. Hosted by Dave L Jackson NUJ, BAJ, CIoJ, SWPP, GOF and is the only qualified member of the Guild of Wedding Photographers in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. The club is open to photographers of all levels and skills from Hobbyist to Professional.
Club evenings are opportunities for informal presentations by members, friendly competitions as well as a chance to get advice and support from other members. We have members interested in wildlife, railway engines, theatre shots, underwater photography, and landscape, Table tops, candid shots and travel. There is a pool of knowledge within the club available to all the members.
Members are now using digital cameras, though a few are still using film and scanning it. The majority of prints are produced with the aid of computers, support is available.

You may be completely new to wedding photography or have shot a few weddings but are keen to take your skills to the next level. Our one day wedding photographer course is the ideal introduction to the skills and knowledge of a wedding photographer.
This informative one day photography courses introduces you to the core technical and creative skills required of a wedding photographer through shooting a bride and groom couple at a fabulous location. Becoming a successful wedding photographer is so much more than simply taking great pictures and therefore we also look at the equipment requirements and commercial skills needed to become an established wedding photographer.
By the end of the course you will be confident in your ability to shoot great wedding shoots, will have a raft of fantastic images to start your portfolio and the commercial knowledge to drive your career forward.

WEDDING PORTFOLIO BUILDER DAY
If you are looking to get into wedding photography or are an established wedding photographer looking to improve either your skills or portfolio then such days will prove invaluable. I also run portrait portfolio days at a range of locations in and around Herts. So please get in touch to discuss the options available to you. We also run a range of wedding photography courses where you can learn the essential skills of this rewarding business.
During the course of the day we will have bride and groom models available to be photographed anywhere within the house or gardens. The images taken by the delegates are all able to be used within their portfolios or on the websites to promote their business and to help them attract new business.
Often during the course of a wedding, time with the bride and groom is severely restricted if you don’t want to dominate proceedings. As a result practising the shots you would like to achieve during a wedding portfolio day is a great means of preparing for the big day.
Professional wedding photographers have used portfolio days to improve their portfolios for many years. Portfolio days are a wonderful tool to use and demonstrate to clients a professional approach to your work by demonstrating how you continue to push yourself and your skills to higher levels.
